Person talk:William Huston (10)

Alternative identification of William [11 July 2021]

He inherited part of father's land near North Mountain and is on East Pennsboro Twp. tax lists (maybe 1764), 1769 through 1795 when he sold the land (with wife Janet) to John Obers, witness Jacob(?) Bortner (Deed Book R, p.406, 4/15/1795 deed, recorded 8/5/1807).

He apparently died in Fayette Co., KY, based on the names in the estate record and William's Cumberland Co., PA deed:

Fayette Co., KY County Court Deed B-142 17 Aug. 1805. William Huston, admr. of William Huston dec'd, of Fayette Co., appoints trusty friend James Duncan in Cumberland Co., PA attorney to receive from John Ober and Jacob Burtner of Cumberland Co,. PA, bonds, etc. due estate of William Huston dec'd, and to collect debt from John Maccolloch Senr. of Cumberland Co., PA.

John McCullough, Sr. is the name of William's brother-in-law.
