Possible Merge [3 April 2011]

This Col. William Crawford appears shows two different sets of parents. Needs to be researched, resolved and merged.

I thought I'd do a cursory search and see what the general consensus was, here are a few "opinions" from a google search:

Perhaps someone that has thoroughly researched this line can assist with this dilemma.... :)

I'm fairly sure that this William Crawford was not the son of Robert Crawford and Mary Shaw. That Robert did have a son named William, but that William's will, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in 1769 (I think, without looking) gives his wife's name as "Vi[o]let," and some other source gives her last name as Fulks. The William Crawford who married Margaret Henderson in Lancaster County the year of the elder William's death was evidently William and Violet's son, and one of his daughters was named Violet.

But it's good to see that evidently no one has run this Col. William Crawford together with the one who was burned at the stake in Sandusky, Ohio, in 1782!--MCC 23:47, 2 April 2011 (EDT)

Ok, I'll remove Robert Crawford and Mary Shaw as William's parents.
