Two mothers creates the problems [19 February 2014]

Two mothers creates the problems: 1) In the FTE only the first mother is shown. 2) During the GEDCOM export only the second mother is choosen. So in both case we loose information and in random way.

My opinion is that one should not allow several mothers or several fathers. The most probable mother should be choosen in the main tree. The links to alternative fathers/mothers should be given in the notes. In Particular for Vladimir Monomakh the most probable mother is Anastasia of Bysance, because he got this surname Monomach from Bysance family of his mother. Pleae, put alternative version in the notes. --Alexandre 00:09, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

We have good ways to handle this. Is one of the two at least considered probable? And if so, which? Or are they both considered equally weak speculation? --jrm03063 18:00, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
Also, are both women known to have had a relationship with the father, and we're just not sure which pairing produced the son? Or is the doubt with respect to which woman had a relationship with the father? --jrm03063 18:03, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
I've made changes that show how we express this kind of situation - where one set of parents is generally accepted but there is at least some speculation about an alternative. If neither were generally accepted, then both connection would be made by way of the speculative parents / speculative child templates. --jrm03063 19:19, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
