Huizum [27 April 2011]

Hallo Herman, at the time of Klaas' death/burial, was Huizum a part of Leeuwarden? Huizum appears to have changed from L'deel to Leeuwarden somewhere around WWII (though I can't find the exact year). If it was part of Leeuwarden at the time of his death, you can edit the death location field to display Huizum, Leeuwarden, Friesland, Netherlands, but point to the Place:Huizum, Leeuwarderadeel, Friesland, Netherlands page (a fancy wiki trick :-) You can put the following into the death/burial location field:

Huizum, Leeuwarderadeel, Friesland, Netherlands|Huizum, Leeuwarden, Friesland, Netherlands

Hallo Jennifer, Bedankt voor de tip en oplossing van Huizum. Op 1 jan 1944 tijden de Duitse bezetting is Huizum bij Leeuwarden ingelijfd. Misschien kun je er wat mee. Huizum

Bedankt for the link. I did see the wiki page, and I think what confused me was the sentence: "Tot 1965 stond het gemeentehuis van de gemeente Leeuwarderadeel nog in Huizum." This must mean that the gemeentehuis (town hall) for L'deel was located in Huizum, but that Huizum itself was a part of Leeuwarden in 1965? I will also edit our Huizum page to reflect this.
