John Hays d. 1814 in Smith Co.,TN vs. John Hays d. 1811 in Wilson Co., TN [17 July 2014]

Hello Jim (Delijim)

There are two men named John Hays who lived relatively near each other in Tennessee and died within 2-3 years of each other. They are:

John Hays who died in Smith Co., Tennessee sometime in late 1814 or 1815 left a Last Will & Testament that named: wife Mary; daughter Margaret, who wed a Davis man; son Charles; daughter Hannah, who married a Horne man (prob. John Horne named as Executor); daughter Jenny, who married a Shannon; son John; daughter Nancy. bequeathed $20 to a man named Moses Fountain Garrison, bequeathed bay horse name Jolly to Samuel Hays (son of Charles). Signed 22 Sept. 1814 and witnessed by Dan Bu(r)ford and Lewis Allen. John Horne and Doctor Donnell named Executors.

AND

John Hays who died intestate in late-1811 or early 1812 in Wilson Co., Tennessee. Wife, Rebecca, was named as administratrix and sold land described as being "on both sides of Cedar Lick Creek beginning on William Donelson's line", purchased by John Hays with deed naming heirs: Isham Davis and wife Rachel, Julius Alford and wife Ann, Harmon A. Hays and Thomas Thompson Hays. This is the John Hays, which has been recently learned, sold land in Montgomery County on 1 July 1786 known as the Buffalo Bottom, and removed from that place to Tennessee.

This John Hays:34 from Smith Co. needs to be removed from the family tree connected to Harmon A. Hays and a new John Hays card in the place of this one. Jim, I wanted to check in with you before just going forward.
