Note that Robert Allison also owned a parcel well to the north on the North/Maury River. This is shown in the colorized version of Hildebrands map that I've just added.

Bill, I believe the parcel you're referring to was obtained by John Allison's son, Robert Allison. I just finished adding the map and Chalkley's reference to his page. Since the acquisition took place in 1771 it could not have been John Allison's brother Robert, since he died in 1769. Thanks, your new maps look good, wish I could figure out how to do them...

Jim, Thanks, I'll change the caption to reflect that.

I'd be happy to send over the base maps for you to work with. There's lots of things that can be done once you have the base maps. Relatively clutterless, so they can be manipulated to show various things without too much effort. I'd be happy to help you with the in's and outs of doing something like this.

Bill, I'd be interested in learning how to add the inset "overview" map image to the Hildebrand map image, that would be great.

Also, the other tract granted to "John Allison" (190 acres, 1768) in the Borden Tract, I'm still trying to place. It either belongs to Robert's son John, or John's son John, still trying to determine from either a will or Chalkley's reference. I'll let you know. This tract is a little east of the 1771 Robert Allison parcel that you previously referenced.
