Person talk:Johanne Jensen (9)

I went through the 1880 census for Avnslev landsogn. I searched for a Johanne Marie Jensen between the ages of 10 and 12, and for an Ida Cathrine Fleischer between 29 and 31, and didn't find anything. Am I correct in interpreting the parish register as meaning that the mother was 19 years old at the time of Johanne Jensen's birth in 1869? --JoshHansen 19:05, 10 February 2009 (EST)

Why We Went With the 1864 Johanne

Katinka born 26 Apr 1884 / Johanne listed as 19 years old, though this could be reflecting the christening date of 13 November 1884

"My" Johanne: b 25 Mar 1869 / age at Katinka's birth = 15
"Dad's" Johanne: b 5 Dec 1864 / age at Katinka's birth = 19

The previous Johanne's age was off by 4 years. The recently found (b. 1864) one's age is exactly right. Therefore we go with 1864 Johanne.

Other Children?

New FamilySearch lists a Jensine Marie Svendsen b. 1881 to a Johanne Marie Jensen b. 1850 in Varde, Ribe, Denmark -- no father listed, though another sibling is named Nels Svendsen (b. 1879) making it seem more likely that Johanne Marie Jensen (b. 1850) was married to somebody-or-other Svendsen, or to Sven somebody-or-other. --JoshHansen 03:13, 29 November 2009 (EST)
