Confusion of records for James Holland [9 May 2015]

Records for at least 2 maybe more men named James, James William, and James W, Holland have become confused on genealogy sites. There were many Holland families in Kentucky and Tennessee and it looks like several had sons named James born in the mid-1800s. To confuse things more, 2 men named James William married women named Mary M.

This Person named James W. Holland, son of Daniel and Drucilla, was born sometime between 1850 and 1855. I can't find a definite birth record. There is another James William Holland, son of James Holland and Mary Jane Frizzel or Frazell, who was born Oct. 27, 1852 in Trigg, Kentucky and died 29 June 1932 in McCracken, Kentucky, according to Kentucky death records. He married Mary Mahalia Berkey and their children according to census records were: Gladis, Pearl, James, Grundy, White, Prentice, Lillian, Lois, and Ryman. The death record and census records for this James William Holland are often attached erraneously to the son of Daniel and Drucilla Holland. However, Mary and Daisy are connected to J.W. and Mary Mahalia Holland. There may be more confused data.
