Another puzzle [20 May 2011]

There is another Jacob Jans Schipper that I believe is the same (both born ~1799). The birth certificate that references this person is for Jan Schipper.

Paulus Johannes Braaksma was the declarant, but it appears to state the parents of Jan were Jacob Jans Schipper and Trijntje Popkes de Vries. However, Trijntje Fopkes de Vries was Paulus' wife. I can't really tell if Jan should be the child of Jacob Jans Schipper or not. The name Jan would fit in better with Jacob's family, so perhaps the wrong wife was indicated on the birth certificate. --Jennifer (JBS66) 12:54, 20 May 2011 (EDT)

I am now convinced that the parents were listed incorrectly on the birth certificate, and Jan is not the child of this Jacob. I believe the child's name was Jan Braaksma instead (married Hieke van der Ploeg & died in 1913). --Jennifer (JBS66) 14:08, 20 May 2011 (EDT)

Think so too as there is a marriage between Paulus Braaksma and Trijntje de Vries Huwelijksakte Leeuwarderadeel, 1835 Man  : Paulus Johannes Braaksma, oud 36 jaar, geboren te Vrouwenparochie,gemeente Het Bildt Ouders: Johannes Dirks en Rinske Paulus Vrouw : Trijntje Fopkes de Vries, oud 28 jaar, geboren te Stiens Ouders: Fopke Klazes de Vries en Jitske Gerrits van der Meer Datum : 30 juli 1835, akte nr. 38 Why the name Jacob Jans Schipper is mentioned will always be a mystery.--Bensinnema 17:48, 20 May 2011 (EDT)
