Henry Scharf Military Record [5 May 2010]

I have traced Henry (Heinrich) Scharf back to service in the Civil War. It appears that he enlisted soon after he arrived in the USA, serving as a substitute in Company A of the 23rd Indiana Infantry. I have yet to seek out his military record in the National Archives. The Roster published by the State of Indiana shows that he mustered in on 15 Oct 1864, and mustered out 23 Jul 1865. In the roster his surname is Sharf.--AZeller 18:24, 5 May 2010 (EDT).
