Utrecht [23 November 2010]

Hi: Utrecht never was and still isn't in Zuid-Holland. It has been since Willibrord or Dagobert (also around 600-650) independent. A kind of a churchstate in the Netherlands, the (Arch)bishop of Utrecht was head of the region with the same (or even more) power as a count in a county had. Later on (1581) it became a province of the Netherlands.--Klaas (Ekjansen) 05:56, 23 November 2010 (EST)

Thank you for the note. This was an automatic match when my gedcom was imported. It appears that it left my original behind the pipe. I've re-linked it to [Place:Utrecht, Utrecht, Netherlands]. Does this look better? Thanks for the help. --Judy (jlanoux) 11:21, 23 November 2010 (EST)
