From Elizabeth Cruttenden (4): Trying to straighten out Elizabeth's husbands [24 August 2011]

There was no Benjamin Bennett in New Haven or Guilford available to marry this Elizabeth Cruttenden. The earliest found is at Fairfield, but two generations later. There was no John Sperry in Guilford. The only one early enough for this Elizabeth Cruttenden was born in New Haven in 1649 and married Elizabeth Post who married, second, sometime after 1691, Benjamin Bunnell and, third, 19 Nov 1700, at New Haven, Edmund Dorman. This Elizabeth Cruttenden did marry, first, Jasper Stillwell and then John Grave. The most reasonable solution is that the original gedcom(s), based on a single AFN (AFN: 8J4W-KF) which is both garbled and inaccurate, somehow combined this Elizabeth Cruttenden with Elizabeth Post and turned Benjamin Bunnell into Benjamin Bennett/Burnett.--jaques1724 10:08, 24 August 2011 (EDT)
