Family sources say Alko De Wind husband of Kate was the son of Tjaarde De Wind, brother of Jan. Is it possible that we have two persons confused? For my part I believe Alko as son of Renje is consistent with US records so I am leaving it as you show for now.--Jhamstra 17:49, 1 June 2011 (EDT)

Which Tjaarde de Wind brother of Jan? I think the only Tjaard's we have now are Person:Tjaard De Wind (2) and Person:Tjaard De Wind (1) neither of which show a brother Jan. From the 1900 census, Alko was born Oct 1869 which fits. Also, he and Kate have two children then, Gertrude and Berend. Gertrude is Alko's mother so that fits. My early guess would be that Kate's father will be named Berend (though I haven't figured out her identity yet). --Jennifer (JBS66) 18:27, 1 June 2011 (EDT)

Clarification - the claim from some of my relatives is that Alko De Wind is the brother of Jan and the son of Tjaard. I personally believe your reconstruction is correct.
