Living nearby are a John Cantrell, age 50, born SC with Elmira, age 44, born SC; Stephen, age 23, born TN; Smith, age 21, born TN; Mahala, age 18, born TN; Parena, age 16, born TN; Permelia, age 13, born TN; Lavinia, age 9, born TN; Martha, age 6, born TN; Damaris, age 4, born TN. Census enumerated October 11. Not sure if this is our Winnie, but the dates fit exactly, and given the odd naming of the women in this line, her having 4 names would fit with our lineage. If this is our Winnie, then I have the wrong parents listed for her, and they don't match with the parents Pauline says she had.

Listed in the 1880 Madison County, Texas Census as Clementine Choat, age 30, keeping house, born TX, father born TN, mother born MO. With husband and children.
Listed in the 1900 Cherokee County, Texas Census as Winnie C. Choate, born Apr. 1850, age 50, married for 26 years, borne 8 children with 7 currently living, born TX, father born TN, mother born MO. With husband and children.
In 1910, son Milton is listed living with his brother John. Perhaps Winnie and George both had died before then?
