Single, living in Penobscot at 1910, 1920 and 1930 Census "Ellsworth American" September 20, 1933, Winfred Wardwell, a lifelong resident of Penobscot, died on Tuesday, September 12, quite suddenly. He was a valued member of the Highland Grange, North Penobscot, and had served faithfully as the Janitor of the Town Hall, and of Clark High School since its establishement. The funeral was held at The Methodist Church on Thursday, September 14, with Rev. Violet Bagly officiating He was the youngest of the family of the late Jeremiah and Julia Wardwell and is survived by a sister, Mrs. S.J. Treworgy of Surry and several nieces and nephews. World War I Draft Registration Card says he was short and of stout build with blue eyes and grey hair. References
