WILLIAM M. WOOD and NANCY E. WINKLER were married on 14 Jan 1841 in Macon County, Missouri.,23 Found William Woods marrying Nancy Winkler, 14 Jan 1841 in Macon County - "Missouri Marriages 1826-1850; Compiled by Liahona Research, Inc."; Kansas City Library NANCY E. WINKLER,24 (daughter of WILLIAM WINKLER and NANCY D. NOLAND) was born on 15 Sep 1825 in Madison County, Kentucky.,24 ,25 She died on 1 Mar 1853 in Crawford County, Arkansas.,24 ,26 Buried at Dripping Springs Cemetery, Crawford County, AR. b. 1825, d.1853 Goodspeed's article gives her name as Mary C., but she was called Nancy in the marriage record. He had also confused her mother's name. I believe they were both Nancy. Her grave marker has her name as Nancy E. WILLIAM M. WOOD and NANCY E. WINKLER had the following children:
34 i. William WOOD was born after 1841. He died before 1850. Probably died as infant. Not in 1850 Census.
    +35 ii. JOSEPH CHRISTOPHER WOOD.
WILLIAM M. WOOD and Susan Manda BISWELL were married on 29 Jul 1855 in Adair County, Missouri.,27 Susan Manda BISWELL (daughter of Richard BISWELL and Sarah PARKER) was born in Nov 1838 in Adair County, Missouri.,17 ,28 She died after 1900.28 Found in the 1900 Crawford Co Census, age 61, widowed, living with Minnie and Lee. In the 1900 Census Manda stated she had 6 children, 5 living. It would seem to me there are too many children subscribed to this family. Louisan is the deceased child. I have seen in other databases, but without any census evidence, another daughter is Lavinia and many omit Louisan - Is perhaps Lavinia the same child as Louisan? Since the censuses and the grave of Louisan indicate a total of 7 children, perhaps one of the older children had died by 1900 and she didn't really count the infant who had died so many years before.
WILLIAM M. WOOD and Susan Manda BISWELL had the following children:
    +36 i. John William WOOD.
37 ii. Louisian WOOD,18 died in May 1860 in Crawford County, Arkansas.29 She was born in 1860.29 Biography of Joseph Wood gave this child's name as Lavinia. Obviously one is wrong. She is not in the 1870 Census. John is there at age 13 and "M.J." (Martha Jane) is 8 and there is no child in between. I believe this child may have died as an infant or small child and the "History in Headstones" book is in error in giving the dates (1860-1880). Personal observation revealed that the birth and death years were the same - looked more like 1850 than 1860 but the family wasn't there that early so it must be 1860. The date was in the month of May.
    +38 iii. Martha J. WOOD.
39 iv. Minnie D. WOOD was born about 1865 in Crawford County, Arkansas.,17 ,18
    +40 v. George W. WOOD.
    +41 vi. Charles Albert WOOD.
42 vii. Brown Lee WOOD was born in Apr 1876 in Arkansas.17 ,28
