U.S. Army Ret. : Wilson, William - b. 8/24/1760 Montgomery County, MD; entered service 1779 in Monongalia County, Virgiiia, where resided, substituted for brother Benjamin in Virginia regiment as indian spy; entered service 1781 in General George Rogers Clark's Illinois regiment against indians; Pensioned 1833 in Monongalia County, Virginia; clergyman Joseph A. Shackelford age 54 & Colonel Dudley Evens age 67 made affidavit there then, per County Justice of the Peace George McNeely & County Clerk of Court Thomas P. Ray; Evan Morgan made affidavit there then age 80 he served in Revolutionary War with soldier in 1779, per County Justice of the Peace Richards Watts., F-S7807, R2611. References
