Early Land Acquisition in Virginia
- 1754 - William Whitson bought "land in Frederick (Shenandoah) from James and Zackeriah McKay, 400 acres, and assigned to Charles Whitson, who died, intestate, and the land descended to Charles's heir-at-law, Jeremiah Whitson, who sold to Nehemiah Wood, who sold to orator", (as listed in "Woods vs. Williams and Clark", listed in records below).

Whitson bought land in Frederick (Shenandoah) from James and Zackeriah McKay, 400 acres, and assigned to Charles Whitson, who died, intestate, and the land descended to Charles's heir-at-law, Jeremiah Whitson, who sold to Nehemiah Wood, who sold to orator.
