William Whitney, son of Robert Whitney and Elizabeth verch Morgan, is likely the same William Whitney who lived in Isleworth, Middlesex from 1573 until his death in 1591.[1]

Isleworth is where Thomas Whitney of Westminster's daughter Margaret was buried and where 3 children of his son John were baptized.[1] This co-location of events has been used to support the argument that Thomas of Westminster is identical with William's brother Thomas[1], but given new information on the approx. birth year of William's brother Thomas, it seems more likely that Thomas of Westminster was William's son (or possibly nephew). It appears that William's will has not been found. It is not known whether or not he had children by his first wife, but it is feasible that he did, and that Thomas of Westminster was one of them.
