The letter was addressed to the Rev. James Walls of Winchester, Virginia, written by his son, Doctor William Walls, of Baltimore, occasioned by the death of Mr. Isaac Burneson... Dr. Walls died April 5, 1824 of a lingering indisposition, which he bore with Christian resignation. He possessed a delicate mind, and an affectionate and sympathasizing heart. At the early age of twelve years, he embraced the religion of Jesus Christ, and held fast his integrity until he was called from a life of suffering to join those who "through faith and patience inherit the promises."
