Mrs. George (Janice) Reddin reported in April of 1984 that she found Vol.2 Findlay Cemetery Record, pg. 99 the item of Sarah Thrap, wife of William, died 31 Jan 1865 age 65 yrs. 2mo. 2ds. This Sarah could be Rachel (common use of other name) or another wife to this William). In that note she stated that she thought she had seen two Sarah Thrapps in that Vol 2 Index of Hancock Co., OH cemeteries, but came home with only this one. 2 Feb. 1810 is found as another possible marriage date. Bigraphical History of Allen Co., states that he was a veteran of the War of 1812 (1812-1815), early a Democrate, but changed to Republican when that party was formed. A Methodist who who assisted in establishing that church in his neighborhood, twice elected county commissioner of Putnam Co, OH, township trustee, and other minor offices. William was a private in William Wilson's Co. 6th Regiment Ohio Militia in the War of 1812. The Biographical History of Allen County, OH says that William moved to Putnam County, OH in 1835, being a pioneer there.
