William Smola, later changed to Smoller, appears in the 1920 census living at 918 O'Brien Street with the rest of the Smola family. In all likelihood, he is not the child of Frank and Mary, since Mary had her last daughter, Evelyn, on September 7 of the same year. He is probably the illegitimate child of Frank and Mary's eldest daughter, Frances. Rumor was that the father was a man by the name of Professor Woods. Since William and Evelyn were born within a week of one another, they were raised as "twins" with the nicknames of Wizzie and Ezzie. Like Evelyn, the census states he is age 5 in 1920. He should be listed as age 6.
