Skaggs, William - born 1757 in North Carolina; entered service 1778 Virginia in Virginia company; entered service 1779 Virginia in Virginia Regiment; received Pension 1832 in Green County, Kentucky; died there 8/20/1848; married there 9/2/1802 to Polly Pearce; widow granted Pension there in 1853 age 80; granted Bounty Land Warrant #27564 there 1855 at age 75; query letter in file 1925 from great great grandaughter Rosalie (Mrs. F.A.) Beverlin of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; query letter in file 1911 from great grandson William C. Skaggs, Winthrop, Massachusetts. F-W2182, R2193.
