    Jeremiah (Your youngest grand Uncle) ...

    ... Your G-Uncle William lived and died a close neighbor to your grandfather in Woodford County leaving his widow and, I think, 4 children - 3 daughters and one son.
    Rhoda married a Mr. Thorn and lived near Georgetown.
    One married and moved to Mt. Sterling with whome I was not much acquainted and have forgot the name.
    Patsy the youngest and
    William
    were still living with their mother on the old place when I left Kentucky 1829. ...

    entered service abt. 1779 in Augusta County, Virginia where he resided, in 12th Virginia Regiment, [BLW1483] issued 8/2/1783;
    moved after Revolutionary War to Woodford County, Kentucky, where he died 6/11/1798;
    married 1/31/1783 Mary who was born 8/15/1764;
    widow pensioned 1843 Woodford County, Kentucky;
    children's births: Rhoda 12/14/1783, Mary 9/23/1785, John Alexander 7/22/1787, Elizabeth 8/20/1789, Hannah 12/17/1791 & William 2/8/1794.

    File contains summary of War of 1812 Pension record of James Rankin [relationship to William Rankin uncertain, apparently NOT a sibling], entered service 1811 in Augusta County, Virginia, where he resided, & resided age 70 in Pocahontas County Virginia in 1751;
    died there 3/3/1853, married 7/25/1821 to Nancy McNeal, Bath County, Virginia, who received Pension at age 74 in Pocahontas County, West Virginia in 1878. F-w8543, R2001.
