A Wm. Ramsey b. 1747 emmigrated from Scotland via ship "Londenderry" from Ireland to America, Lanc. Co. Pa. in 1768. Married Elizabeth Lackey in 1771 then married Martha Ochiltree in 1796. I would be interested in knowing if you have a Delawre connection on your family tree. My g-g-grandfather Hugh Ramsey came to America. We are trying to track his to Ireland/Scotland. Re: William & Elizabeth Ramsey of Pennsylvania Posted by: Lonna Poland Date: March 04, 2001 at 20:25:02 In Reply to: Re: William & Elizabeth Ramsey of Pennsylvania by DENNIS WARD of 5876 According to my records, William Ramsey & his first wife, Elizabeth Lackey were married in Lancaster Co. PA in 1771. Elizabeth was buried there. Later William married Martha Ochiltree in Rockbridge Co. VA. Several of their children were born there, and others of their children were born after their move to Preble Co. OH. William had about 15 children with these two wives and their descendants and the descendants of William's brother Hugh, were scattered in PA, VA and Ohio. I am descended from John Ramsey, a son of William & Elizabeth, who was born in PA and later married Elizabeth Campbell in Rockbridge Co. VA. Although some of their children were born in VA, they also had a few children in Preble Co. OH, so it looks like they either moved to OH with his father, or his father followed them there. Their son, William, my gr gr grandfather was born in OH. Although I have the lists of many of these children and grandchildren of William and his two wives, I don't seen anyone named Edmund, although it's quite possible that he could have been a grandson of either William or Hugh. If you'd like to write to me at lonna@@granbury.com, perhaps we can still compare notes. References
