BIOGRAPHY: A Genealogy of the Potter Family originating in Rhode Island By Rev. Jeremiah Potter Phenix, R. I.: John H. Campbell, Book and Job Printer 1881 - Page 32 William Potter, son of Robert Jr., and Catherine Potter, married Hannah Cory, probably about 1760 to '64. Mr. Potter was a farmer and lived in Scituate, on the as you go from Clayville to the Richmond factory, and lies buried there. The writer has been able to find but little of the history of this venerable man. He was born probably about 1732, as I think he was next older than my grand-father, who was born in 1734. I have heard my father speak of him some forty-five or fifty years ago, so I cannot recollect any thing in particular concerning him.
