Facts and Events
William Paul was one of the Early Settlers of Augusta County, Virginia __________________________ [edit] About William PaulThere are few records regarding William Paul, who died and left his will in Augusta County, which was probated on 16 November, 1757. Based upon the persons listed as executors and witnesses in his will and appraisement*, William Paul was living in the "Borden Tract" in then Augusta (later Rockbridge County) Virginia. He named his sons John, James and daughter Margaret in his will. His son John Paul appears to be the John Paul that acquired 400 acres in the Borden Tract just a few years before his father's death in 1754*. His daughter Margaret MAY be the Margaret Paul that married Richard Woods, but further research is necessary to prove. William Paul's wife (name unknown) apparently had predeceased him, since she was not named in his will or any other records.
