Children of Thomas and Elizabeth Meadows/Meadors William Troy – b. 11 May 1803 NC, d. 9 Sep 1862; m. ca 1823 prob. TN, Sarah “Sally” Smith (b. 25 Aug 1807 TN, d. 3 Sept 1893, Whitley, KY). Both are buried in Old Red Bird Cemetery. They lived on Capuchine Mountain on the Tennessee side for several years before locating at Red Bird. That is why most of their children say they were born in Tennessee. They were members of the Red Bird Baptist Church. Sarah was dau of Josiah Smith and Elizabeth “Betsy” Todd

Medors Sr of the County of Whitley and State of Kentucky being weak in health though strong in mind wish to dispose of My worldly Goods as followeth to wit 1st it is my will that all my just debts shall be paid 2nd I will and bequeath unto my beloved wife during her life my Negro Man Loerris my Negro Woman Isabela and my Negro child Cherry and after the death of my wife I will that said Negros be sold and my Daughter Elizabeth’s hires [sic] shall have two hundred Dollars of the price of said Negros and my Daughter Polly to have two hundred Dollars and my Daughter Sally to have two hundred Dollars and my Daughter Louisa Jane to have two hundred Dollars and I further Will that my wife shall have power to Divide with my daughters that is Now Single acording as we hav done with them that is Married I Also will that my wife and my two Daughters that is now Single Shall have their support off of my farm while they are single and I will that my son Josiah Meartis shall have my land that I now live on to a certain condition.
