" WILLIAM BRYANT MALONEY (sixth child of John and Susan Crawford Maloney) born Sept. 30, 1801 or 1809 in Buncombe County, North Carolina died June 7, 1875. William Bryant married first 1832 PERMELIA RHODES born ca 1814 died May 16, 1856 the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth McKnew Rhodes. Permelia's death record says she was born in Green County, Kentucky. Census records state she was born Illinois. She died in childbirth, age 40 per her death record. They lived at Maloney Bend, present Lee County. The same land that John W. and Susannah Crawford settled on when they moved to the then Estill County, KY. There is an old Maloney Graveyard, where some of the families are buried. John W. and Susannah owned one thousand acres of land, the Post Office was Maloney Bend, Kentucky in Lee County. Lee County was formed in 1870. William and Permelia are buried in the Maloney Graveyard at Maloney Bend, Kentucky. Their known children were twelve."
