  • Greenbrier Co. Court Orders: William Long is appointed overseer of the road from Rankin Wiley down Anthony's Creek to the foot of the mountain. The appointment shows that Wm. Long was on Anthony's Creek at that time.
  • 5 April 1817, Personal property tax records show Wm. Long with one horse, no slaves. It also shows another Wm. Long in the county at that time with one slave and one horse. This Wm. Long married Elizabeth Davis, May 9, 1814 and later moved to Kentucky. [?]
  • 29 December 1818, William Long purchased 79 acres of land from James and Peggy Reid. Greenbrier Co. Deed Book 7, pg. 423. According to tax records, in 1819, the tax value of the land and buildings was $19.75, tax 15¢. The following year the tax value was $118.50. Tax the same.
  • 23 February 1819, Greenbrier Co. Court Orders: William Long's Deed for 79 acres proved by oaths of John Nathan, John A. and James Reid Jr., and admitted to record.
  • 1826, Greenbrier Co. William Long, Property tax records the property value decreased to $39.50. The tax was only .04¢.
  • 16 March 1827, personal property tax records for that year show William Long with one horse, no slaves. He is the only Long listed in the tax record.
  • 6 October 1836, William Long sold the property to Michael Fleshman. Greenbrier Deed book 13, pg. 602. It's tax value was $39.50 according to the tax records.
