From: "fred cross" <fecross@sonetcom.com> The tradition in the family is that the parents of Susannah Lane Cross were William Lane (B.1740;D.1808 in Ga.), a Revolutionary soldier and Nancy Allen Lane (B.1748 in Va.; D.1802-03 in Ga.) of Va. They migrated from Va. to Wilkes Co.,Ga. about 1793. Susannah married William Cross against her father's wishes and he disowned her, so the traditiongoes.
