From Rootsweb.com post:

children of William Laferty who married Nancy Jameson:

(1) Rebecca who md. Alexander Massey (2) William who died in the Western Lunatic Asylum at Staunton after 1860, apparently never married. (3) John, presumably one of the youngest children, who md. Mary "Polly" William in 1824. (4) Alexander who went to Boone County, Indiana (5) James who went to Boone County, Indiana (6) Robert who went to Boone County, Indiana (7) Clara. This one is still a mystery (8) Ralph who md. Sarah Farmbrough on 17 Mar 1818. This means that William L. Laferty who md. Malinda Combs in 1840 would be his child. William is in the 1850 census as being age 27, 1860 - 39. I submit, then, that he wou have been born sometime between 1821 and 1823, which is before any of John's children would have been born if John only married the one time. (9) Mary "Polly" (10) Jane md. Matthew Farley, Jr. (11) Martha "Matty" md. William Massey (12) Steel md. (1) Nancy Jones and had 2 children (2) Eleanor Ellison Phipps, widow of Fielding Phipps and had no children. (13) Elizabeth md. John Allen, Jr. (14) Nancy who may have married William McDaniel, but that is only based on what I see before me and is not even remotely checked on.
