During the American Revolutionary War, William and Agnes resided at Harper's Ferry, Virginia. William served as a gunsmith with Col. Baylor's Troop of Lighthorse Calvary at Harper's Ferry. He made muskets. They moved to Grainger County, Tennesssee about 1803 and to Illinois about 1832. William died in 1837 at Scottsville, Macoupin County, Illinois. William and Agnes are buried in West Scottville Cemetery. There are no gravestones.
