William is mentioned in a declaration made by Abel Jackson in 1854 supporting his mother's claim for Revolutionary War Pension Benefits. He is described as 10 years older than Abel and deceased. A William Jackson is found on the 1800 Anson Co., North Carolina US Census with a wife and daughter. --end of Bob's Notes--

William's brother Abel has been proved to be a descendant of Robert Jackson of Hempstead by DNA; thus his brother William is also Robert's descendant. Further, some of William's known descendants have also been tested and their results prove a relationship to Robert Jackson.
