    • Known as "Big Henry".
    • His grandmother, Dorothea in her will "I give to my grandson William R. Henry, my negro boy Scotsman, Beck & Charity and all the household furniture, my bay horse Nathan"
    • He ran away and joined the Army but his father, Nathaniel had him discharged, "For Minority". Like his elder brother he was involved in the Mexican War but not as a military man.
    • In 1850 he went to San Antonio, Texas, and was a Texas Ranger, City Marshall, Sheriff, Indian fighter and generally an adventurer until he was killed by a fellow Confederate, Capt. Wm. B. Adams in a quarrel in 1862, San Antonio. In South Texas there are many, many descendants of William R. Henry.
    • Capt. William R. Henry, Texas Ranger, was perhaps the most colorful of the grandchildren of Patrick Henry.

    7.e. William Robertson, b. 1821, ran away from home at 17, joined army, married Maria Urrutia, children, sheriff of Bexar Co., Texas, killed in a gunfight on Powder House steps in San Antonio 1862, age 41, dueling over who would be captain in company of Confederate troops.
