William Fleming's land (Beverley Manor NW, 440 acres (apparently mis-labeled as 420 acres on Hildebrand Map) & 120 acres, 1765; both adjoining the 300 acre tract previously acquired from Israel and Elisabeth Christian in 1763) as shown on the map meticulously drawn by J.R. Hildebrand, cartographer. This map is copyrighted©, used by permission of John Hildebrand, son of J.R. Hildebrand, April, 2009.

Estate Records of William Fleming

From Chalkley's:

  • Vol. 1 - APRIL 26, 1782. - (375) Admn. of estate of Wm. Fleming granted widow, Margaret.

Hunt; 1787, September 18th, settled by Margaret McGonagal, administratrix. (Note: this record shows that William Fleming had died prior to 28 March 1782 and lists a "Margaret" as the wife of William Fleming in 1787, which seems to indicate that Anne, listed as William Fleming's wife in the land transaction in 1767 (shown above) had apparently died and William re-married prior to his death.).
  • Page 357.--21st April, 1791. William Fleming's additional appraisement.
  • Page 384.--Dr. the estate of William Fleming in account with James Megongal, and Margaret, his wife, late Margaret Fleming, administratrix. (Note: this record shows that William Fleming's apparent second wife Margaret had re-married to James McGonegal prior to 17 July 1787).
