Emigrated to Australia, arriving in Adelaide South Australia in 1848-1849 on the ship "Abberton".From there, they travelled to the copper mines in Burra, (South Australia), Thakarinka, near Broken Hill, and then on to Bethanga in Victoria.During all this travelling, they had 14 children, the first born in 1846 & the last in 1876.         [from Scope and Content] Continued appeal by St. Hilary against order of 11 Sep. last for removal of William Dowha from Crowan: order reversed. ---------------------------

?1848 Jan 26. I do hereby give and bequesth to my wife, Jane Dower all my goods, chattles, money to be managed and taken care of as in my liftime for the benefit of the famil until the youngest is twentyone years old and I do also appoint and declare Jane Dower the Executor of all my goods and property as long as she remain a widow and conduct herself properly and in case she should marry or conduct herself improperly toward the children or the property to have the power thus given her taken away and to receive one shilling only if she marry. I also do declare that none of my children shall molest or hinder the said Jane Dower in the managing of the said property neither shall they buy or sell receive or pay monies or goods without her consent and I do also hereby declare that at the age of twenty-one of the youngest child that Jane Dower, my wife, shall have and receive one third of all my property, goods and that the remainder of the goods and property shall be equally divided among my children viz Joseph, Samuel, James, Mary, Samson, Philllippa, and John Dower and William to receive one shilling only and moreover I declare that if anyone shall have leave the house & family before they are of full age to receive only one shilling except they leave from any just cause or circumsttance. And finally I do appoint and declare my brother and brtoerh-in-law James Dower & Richard Boucher Trustees and Guardians over the above properties.

. In the Archdeaconry Court of Cornwall In the Goods of William Dower late of Crowan Farmer deceased

  Appeared personally James Dower of the parishof Crowan in the County of Cornwall, Farmer, and made oath that he is one of the subscribed witnesses to the last Will and Testament of William Dower late of the parish of Crowan aforesaid farmer deceased now herewith annexed beginning thus:   "1848  Jan 26.   I do hereby give and bequeath to my wife Jane Dower" ending thus  "I do appoint and declare my brother and brother-in-law James Dower & Richard Boucher trustees and guardians over the above properties"  and thus subscribed  "William Dower"  And that this Deponent and William Skewes the other subscribed witness to the same Will were present at the same time when the said deceased on the twenty-sixth day of January last wrote and subscribed his name to the said Will and this Deponent and the said William Skewes subscribed their names thereto in the presence of the said Testator and of each other as witnessed thereof.  And this dponent further saith that having inspected the said Willl and observed the words "my" interlined between the tenth and eleventh lines of the first side of the said Will and the word "I" interlined above the first line of the third side of the said Will saith that such interlineations ere respectively made previous to the execution of the said Will by the said deceased. On he thirty-first day of May, 1848 the said James Dower was duly sworn to the truth of this Affidavit

Proved in Common for the 31st day of May 1848 before William John Phillporra, Clerk A.M. Archdeacon and Administation of alll and singular the Goods of the said deceased and any way concerning the said Will wasgranted to Jane Dower, the Widow of the said deceased and sole Executrix named in the said Will.
