I have the Civil War Records of William H. Coulter. If you would like, I can make copies and send them to you by mail. I was born in Anne Arundel County and have lived here since then. My mom was born in DC and moved to Edgewater in 1940 at the age of 8 with her family.

the Coulters came from Pennsylvania and were mainly farmers. The father of May E. Coulter Potter (wife of Frederick E. Potter) is William Henry Coulter b 1843 in Perry Co., Pa. and died 1923 Prince George's Co., Md. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery as he served in the Civil War. The mother is Sarah Jane Fritz Coulter b 1846 Pa. and she died in 1926 in PG Co., Md. I have been researching other siblings of May E. Coulter Potter . I know some Coulters moved to W Va. The sister Sidney married a Cogar from WVa and moved back to DC and PG Co., another sister Pearl married a Cauffman in DC and had two children. Pearl died and her father had the two children in 1920. They were living in PG Co.in 1930 next door to Sidney Cogar and her family. I know this is a lot to digest. Some of the Coulters remained in Pennsylvania.
