October 6, 1829, was the date of the marriage of Wm. Green Clay to Patsey P. Bedford. They first located near Paris, where they lived years. After which they located in Paris, remaining there about eight years. In March, 1846, they located on the Bedford homestead, where Mrs. Clay has since resided. Mr. Clay departed this life April 17, 1855, since which time she has borne his name, and conducted the farm in conjunction, with her sons' assistance.
