Will Transcript

In the name of God Amen, this Twenty first day of June in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Eighty. I William Armstrong of Rowan in the State of North Carolina, being sorely wounded, sick and weak of Body, but of Perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God, Therefore to make this my Last Will and Testament, in respect of my Temporal estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life, first, I will that all those debts which I do owe either in right or conscience to any Person or Persons whom soever be first will and truly paid by my Executors hereafter named.
item I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Margaret a Bedstead and furniture and the young loan? Mare saddle and Bridle, a spinning Wheel and to here and her heirs and Assigns forever, further I leave the place whereon I live house and furniture therein the old roan Mare and Implements of husbandry and the Negro Wench in trust with my said loving wife Margaret as long as she continues my Widow or marys another man for the raising my family & her own support, and at any of the said events which ever happens first, my wife is that the said household furniture Implements of husbandry the said wench and Increase by sold and my said Wive to have One third part of the Amount and the Remainder to be divided amongst my Children share and share alike and the Negro Wench abovesaid, I give and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth and to her and her Heirs and Assigns forever, but if said Negro Wench have any breed before my said Wife's death or Marriage, I will one of them to my Daughter Mary and to her Heir and Assigns ~ and the Remainder of said breed if any to be divided among all my Children equally.
