Whilst no named connection has been found, this baptism has been linked to the William Allen who married Elizabeth Preston on the basis that it is about the time implied by the age on his burial and in the same parish in which William married, had his children and died. No evidence has been found suggesting the William baptised in 1745 died young or married anyone else.
