An agent in court for Peter Garland 1645; Wife Sarah a witness in court in 1648; innkeeper 2 OCT 1651 Strawberry Banke, Portsmouth; took the Oath of Allegiance Misc (no was) 21 JUL 1657; twenty-one of the settlers of Portsmouth, including himself, after selecting five "townsmen," signed an agreement relating to the distribution of land, etc., to abide by their decisions in the government of the settlement for Indian fur-trading 5 Apr 1652; reeman July 14, 1657; On Jan. 22, 1660-61, he was assigned ninety-nine acres more. On Jan. 8, 1663, he and his wife Sarah sold a log-house and lot near the meeting house at Strawberry Bank; On Jan. 1, 1656-57, he had the "hole consent to keep an ordinarie. He was highway surveyor in 1658; member of the proprietor's committee; selectman, 1664. In 1658 he subscribed fifteen shillings for the support of the minister.
