    February 22, 1927 - March 1, 2014 Veryl passed away peacefully at his home after a long battle with cancer. He attended Hollywood High School and graduated from Occidental College with a BA in Economics. He served honorably in the United States Navy until his discharge in 1946. Veryl was President and CEO of Alexander's Markets until they sold in 1976. He then went back to school and earned his MBA from CSUN. He received his CPA license in May 1980 and practiced his trade until he sold the practice in December 2013. Veryl and his wife lived in the Antelope Valley for the past 15 years. Veryl was an avid hunter, lover of books, and NFL aficionado. He was a very loved husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 66 years, Virginia; his son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Laura Alexander, and their daughters Sarah Jane and Colleen Christine. Additionally, he is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Christine and Robert Ralphs, and Stacey and Christopher Coughlan. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 15th, 11:00 a.m., at Palmdale United Methodist Church, located at 39055 10th Street West, Palmdale 93551. Veryl was a Life Sponsor of Ducks Unlimited. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Ducks Unlimited would be much appreciated. (www.ducks.org; 901-758-3825).

    ALEXANDER, Veryl Wayne Born February 22, 1927 in Los Angeles, Calif., passed away after a long battle with cancer on March 1, 2014 in Palmdale, Calif. He attended Hollywood High School, Occidental College and CSUN and served in the U.S. Navy. Veryl lived in the AV for 15 years. He was President and CEO of Alexander's Markets and a CPA. Veryl was an avid hunter, big NFL fan and a lover of books. Veryl was a very loved husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia; son, Steven (Laura); daughters, Christine (Robert) Ralphs, and Stacey (Christopher) Coughlan, and granddaughters, Sarah Jane and Colleen Christine Alexander.
