Valentine Kieffer was admitted to White Hall Soldier's Orphan School 3 Sept 1875. His discharge date is not recorded in the school records. He is included in the 1880 US Census as an 11 yo student in the school.

Valentine and brother Clarence entered White Hall on the same date. Clarence is recorded as a "Sixteener" in the 1884 report, Valentine may have left at the same date on orders but It has not been documented. Valentine would have graduated in Feb 1885. Clarence Graduated in July 1883 which is reported as 1884. The School year was June 83 to May 84 Students graduated on their sixteenth birthday regardless as to when it fell in the school Year.
