  3. Source:Bolton, Ethel Stanwood. Some Descendants of John Moore of Sudbury, Mass in NEHGR, Vol. 57, p. 370, says (referring to this Uriah, Uriah s/o Obediah b. 1750, and Uriah s/o David [probably fictitious as explained below] b. 1751) says "it is hardly possible to distinguish between the three Uriahs", and that the probate file of 1799, belonging to the Uriah who married Olive How "gives no clue". Actually, it does. The probate makes it clear that Curtis was son of this Uriah and Olive, and combined with the knowledge that Curtis was appointed administrator de bonis non of his grandfather Hezekiah after his father died, it shows that the Uriah, who was the father of Curtis, was a son of Hezekiah. This Uriah is younger than the son of Obediah, so would be called Jr., as is the Uriah who married Olive How.

No record of the son of David is found, and it is not understood what Bolton is talking about in this regard. There is no birth or death record in Sudbury VRs except for a Uriah who b. 1744 and d. 1746 (whom Bolton also shows), and the 1808 will she mentions (which belongs to the widow Hannah, not the father David) mentions only daughter Abigail Bacon, sons William and Timothy - no Uriah. Actually, administration on David's estate was granted to his widow Hannah on 30 Apr 1776. The real estate is divided 1/3 to widow and 2/3 to eldest son William, he paying the other heirs. The judge's decree (here) lists the other heirs (Abigail, Reuben and Timothy) and there is no Uriah in the list or elsewhere in the probate file.
