    "Uncle Dale" Holt, MI; Age 82, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2004. He was born on May 28, 1921 in Lansing to Thaddeus and Edith (Delo) Wardwell.

    Dale drove for Greyhound Bus Line for 17 years prior to becoming a Deputy Sheriff with the Ingham County Sheriff's Department and serving for 17 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Central Michigan Law Enforcement Association.

    He is survived by: his wife of 59 years, Ruth; children, William (Nancy) Wardwell and Diane (Charles) Dittenber; grandchildren, Matthew (Kathryn), Tammi and Kelly Wardwell and Charles and Michael Dittenber; great grandchildren, Jonathan and Maranda Wardwell; brother, Keith Wardwell of both Holt and Florida. Dale was preceded in death by: his parents and 5 sisters.

    Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at the Estes-Leadley Holt, Delhi Chapel. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Winn, MI. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home. For those who wish, memorials may be given to Sparrow Home Hospice or a charity of one's choice, in memory of "Uncle Dale".
