U.S. Army Ret. : Camper, Tilman - entered service 1778 in Fauquier County, Virginia; born 4/11/1759; after Revolutionary War moved to Fayette County, Kentucky, where granted Pension in 1832, where he died 12/3/1836; married 10/27/1779 to Dinah Hitt, Fauquier County, Virginia; widow was born 4/15/1764 & granted Pension 1838 in Fayette County, Virginia [a/b KY?], when affidavit made there by 9th child Nancy Marsh age 43; children's births: Thomas 9/9/1780, Anne 178-, Benjamin 7/7/1783, Sarah 1/5/1786, Jonathan 1/13/1788, Nimrod 11/3/1789, Elizabeth 3/3/1791, Polly 2/28/1793, Nancy 3/2/1795, Charles Weaver 4/1/1797, Joel Hitt 6/21/1799, Peter 6/25/1802, Miriam 3/7/1804, Levi 3/10/1806 & Reuben Hitt 3/19/1808; affidavit made in 1839 by son Levi age 33 Fayette County, Kentucky; name also spelled Kamper.
