Notes are from Alex Thompson: Thomas and wife Peggy O'DANIEL (who died prior to the 1820 Census) had three daughters, with names given in their grandfather John O'DANIEL's Orange Co. NC will: Will of John O'DANIEL 20 Apr 1821 (pr. Feb 1825, WB E-78): wife dec'd; children: . John, Henry, James, Jesse, Green, Jean CATES, Peggy THOMPSON (dec'd), . Peggy's three daus.: Nance, Jane & Ann. Exec. son James & Thomas THOMPSON

The oldest daughter, Nancy THOMPSON, was born bet. 1811-1815 and Jane and Ann were both born 1815-1820, per the 1830 Census (Orange Co. NC p. 283), That record indicates that Thomas may have taken a second wife, as there was an unidentified female in the household, born 1800-1810. In the 1820 Census, Thomas and his brother John had been listed together, with John's wife and their unwed sister Ann, but Ann married in 1822, so the woman with Thomas in 1830 wasn't his sister.

Thomas died between 1833 and Sept. 1834, as shown from Orange Co. Court records relating to the estate of his father-in-law John O'DANIEL:

12 Sep 1834 Court of Equity: James O’DANIEL & Thomas THOMPSON had both died and Jesse O’DANIEL took over as Executor of John'O'DANIEL's estate. Jean CATES’ son William had had a full money settlement with Thomas THOMPSON in 1833. She wants settlement of a Slave.

In an 1899 letter, Thomas' nephew William Holt THOMPSON wrote, "Uncle Thomas left no son, his girls married and went west." To date no spouses have been identified.

Peggy (O'DANIEL) THOMPSON's mother's name was Agnes, and some believe Agnes' maiden name was TUDOR. I haven't seen firm evidence for that, however.
