Jan, Your Langhorne Tabb is brother to my Elizabeth Tabb who married Drury Scruggs in Cumberland Co before 1782. Elizabeth is not listed in the Charles Parish Register, York Co VA as Langhorne and the older children are listed. I believe she and the following three siblings were born as Thomas Tabb and Lockey Langhorne left York Co for Cumberland co abt 1753 or so. Thomas is found in Cumberland about then and there are at least 3 more daughters born...Martha who married James Douglas, Lockey who married Jesse Cobbs and a daughter who predeceased her father but who apparently married a Jesse Boatwright (Boatwrite/ Boatrite).

Will of Thomas Tabb in cumberland Co Va WB 2, p 291 I Tho's Tabb of Cumberland Court being sick & weak but in sound memory to apoint this to be my will & testement as followeth. Item I give & bequeth to my son Edward Tabb five pounds cur't money of Virginia. I likewise give unto my son Langhorne five pound cur't money of Virginia. I likewise give to my son in law Robet Browns children five pounds current money of Virginia. I give unto my daughter Merryman five pounds curr't money of Virginia. I give unto my daughter Walton five pounds curr't money of Virginia. I give unto my daughter Boatwrite five pounds curr't money of Virginia. I give unto my daughter Douglass five pounds curr't money of Virginia. I give unto my grandaugther Smithe Merryman my black blase face horse with my saddle & bridle but Jesse Cobbs is to sell my the saddle for the most it will fetch towards as good a hunting saddle as can be got made and what the price the saddle falls short of the hunting saddle Jesse Cobbs is to pay up. I like give my grandaughter what hard money I have. I give unto my daughter Scruggs five pounds curr't money. Last of all I give the hole residue of what I posess reall & personal to my daughter Lockey Cobb & I appoint Jesse Cobbs & my daughter Lockey my hole & sole executor my will & desire is that estate be not appraised in no shape whatever the above writing contain my last will & testament as witness my hand & seal this 8th day of January 1782. Thomas Tabb L.S. Test Adams Couzens (spelling as written) At a court held for Cumberland Coundy 22nd April 1782. This last will and testament of Thomas Tabb deceased was exhibited in court by Jesse Cobbs executor therein named proved by Adam cousons a witness thereto and ordered to be recorded oand on the motion of the said executor who made oath according to law certificate is granted him for obtaining a probat thereof in due form he having with William Anderson and James Cunningham his securities entered into bond according to law Test Geo. Carrington Jr. Clerk Certified copy Circuit court cumberland Co. Va

"Cumberland County, VA and Its People,", pg. 104, "Thomas Tabb came to Cumberland County in 1750 from York County, Virginia. (DB 1, 168). He bought lands on Willis River and Randolph's Creek, his home being "on lower side Randolph's Creek," adjoining land of Maurice Langhorne. (DB 5, 484). He died in 1782 (WB 2, 291) after having deeded his lands to his son, Langhorne Tabb, and his sons-in-law: Robert Brown, Jesse Cobbs, Jesse Boatwright, and James Douglass."

Same family. different child. Do you have name of wife of Thomas Hugo Tabb? or any other siblings. In that line, I have nothing beyond Langhorne Tabb m. Judith Cox in 19 Nov 1771. I also have no record for marriage of Thomas Tabb to Lockey Langhorne, although I'm 98% positive that's who she was. Without the records of Warwick Co, it's doubtful it can ever be proven. If you have other info, would greatly appreciate help. Thomas Tabb b. 5 sept 1719 Charles Parish, York Co Va, d. will proven 22 Apr 1782 cumberland Co VA. m. Lockey Langhorne b. 1723 Warwick Co Va d. before 1781, not named in will of Thomas Tabb as she predeceased him.
