[Note: This is assumed to be an error. This source appears to be a reprint of an article in [[Source:NEHGR|NEHGR}}, p. 87:355, which cites as its source for the identification of Thomas Stevens and the abstract of the probate of Henry Hall (not the will itself which doesn't actually name him): Austin p. 90. The husband appears to be misidentified based on the deed cited below which shows the identified Thomas Stephens married a different Mary Hall. However, the are several other Thomas Stevens it could be. A Thomas Stevens of Plainfield m. 26 May 1702 Mary Hall, "d. Stephen", for example. Since Henry Hall died in Rhode Island, it is far from obvious why the author decided it was a Thomas Stevens from Connecticut. Alden G. Beaman, in the Rhode Island Genealogical Register, April 1982, p. 355, transcribed the son-in-law as Thomas Havens, not Thomas Stevens. But this is probably wrong, since the article above cites not only the probate, but also a deed (Westerly Land Evidence 1:96) that also names son-in-law Thomas Stevens. NEHGR, p. 15:65, "Early Settlers of Westerly, R.I.", says Thomas Stevens was a "Free inhab. Westerly, 1690", which presumably means he was of age, and therefore, older than this Thomas Stephens.]
